Psychoanalysis offers you a place for speaking about your experience, and finding your bearings in what is happening within you and around you. A difficult experience can remain a source of suffering or can be the source of our focusing our attention on asking new questions, eg What is this that I am experiencing? or How can I approach this issue in a better way? Our suffering arises from our disorientation in what is happening, not in the happenings themselves. Broadly, this arises from confusion between the subtle sense of our as it arises from within, and forms of desire that feel imposed as they are initiated from the desire of an other/Other. We can ask, how does it feel to be and live as the I that I am?
